Walking by Faith
Walking by Faith: Trusting God Even When Life Feels Uncertain.
Uncertainty = uncomfortable.
As entrepreneurs, writers, and creatives, we like to plan, strategize, and map out our futures. But what happens when the road ahead is blocked? What do we do when we have done everything right (according to us), but the results aren't expected?
This is where trusting God comes into play in a big way. We cannot trust in the easy moments alone, we have to also trust during those really hard ones where we feel there is no hope in sight.
Faith means walking before we see the road ahead.
One of the hardest parts of trusting God is moving forward before we have all of the answers. This reminds me of a verse...
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Faith doesn't mean we have 100% clarity or visibility before we take action. It means believing that even when we can't see the full road ahead, God does, and He is leading us exactly where He wants us to go.
If I am being honest, uncertainty is difficult because it forces me to release control. That is a really difficult thing for me to do. I want guarantees before I step out, but faith requires me to surrender that control.
I had to figure out a way that would help me with this because it is an area I am struggling in currently. Here is where I landed...
Pray for wisdom - I do not know everything. Ask God for clarity in your next step and trust that He will reveal that to you when its time.
Take small steps of faith - Don't leap blindly, do not wait for the perfect conditions, take that next right step and trust God with the outcome. I tend to leap before I think, I'm challenging myself to do the opposite.
Release the pressure - Lower your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and exhale. Please stop adding pressure to yourself. You don't have to have everything figured out. Give yourself grace in the process.
Remember God's faithfulness - I said this last week, and I felt it needed to be said again this week. How quickly I forget sometimes. Look back on times God has guided you before, let that encourage you now.
What area of your life or business feels uncertain to you right now?
Take time this week to pray over it, release control, and commit to walking by faith even when you don't have all the answers.
God is leading you down that blocked road, just take that next small step.
