Thoughts Surrounding My New Books

Thoughts Surrounding My New Books

I am SOOOOOOO excited! My new books are finally in my hands! I feel like I can finally breathe after pouring myself into this project over the last year.

You can now read the first chapter free here.

Have I ever shared with you before that writing and publishing a book is HARD?! It's a lot of work. But holding your published book in your hands makes it worth it!

As relieved as I am that publishing is upon me (September 16th officially), I am kind of sad the creating part of the process is over. I really do enjoy that part of this process.

I wanted this blog post to be a pulling back of the curtain so to speak so here are some lessons I learned while creating Braver with Belief and the Called to Serve Guided Journal:

  • Be open to lessons that occur in real time. You never know when your story will shift and take on a while new meaning because of what you are currently experiencing.
  • Saying yes to being a servant leader brings a whole new level of challenges, but being prepared helps you conquer them easier.
  • Spending more time in solitude helped me to dig deep to finish writing this book. It challenged me to open up, be more vulnerable, and share more real-life experiences than I have before.
  • Admitting that the closing of one door has to happen in order for the right one to open.
  • Letting go is hard.
  • Leading in love is also hard. Especially when you get rejected.
  • Accepting that you are part of a bigger picture is freeing. It gives you a peace you didn't realize you were missing.
  • It's okay to take a leap of faith and trust that God's got you.
  • I can do extremely difficult things.

This book further solidifies that the direction I am moving towards is vastly different from the one I set out to do in 2017. There is nothing wrong with that, I have reached all of the goals I set up for myself in 2017 before the 10 year mark. That is cause for celebration! But now, it's time to do something that looks slightly different.

These books are just the beginning of my adventures as an author. I've already moved on to my next (BIG) project. I'll be publishing a Christian Romance Series that has 6 books plus 1 bonus collection book. More on that this fall. So you'll have to keep following me to see what is coming.

The way I have been called to be a servant leader is working with a multi-passionate woman. Maybe she's an entrepreneur or hopes to be an author. It could be that she's a ministry leader or simply wants to level up her hostessing. I'm here to help with all of those things and then some. And that, my friend, is so exciting.

I feel like I've found my home, and you are a part of it.

With Grace, Shonda Ramsey
