Preparing Your Business for a Fresh Start

Preparing Your Business for a Fresh Start

Can you believe we've arrived to just one more month left of 2025? Whew! We are nearly there!

This last year has been challenging for a lot of people, not just me. Chances are if you are an entrepreneur, your business has seen the ebb and flow this year. You likely struggled with bookings, sales, or even doubt. If this past year has been difficult, have hope, we have a new one ahead of us.

Take some time to reflect on 2025.

For business & entrepreneurship: What worked? What didn't work? Where are you struggling the most?

For authors & writers: Did you hit your writing goals? What struggles did you face? What is something you learned this year that has changed your flow for the better?

For women of faith: Did you do everything you had hoped to do this year? What is your favorite thing you did this year? What are some things you wish you had more time to do?

As we prepare our hearts for the new year, I want to encourage you to keep an open heart as you start fresh with intentional planning.

Here are some tips to help you out.

Business & Entrepreneurs:

Organize your projects: Review what’s unfinished and decide what to let go of and what to continue.

Set priorities: Identify high-impact activities (client work, content creation, products).

Plan your calendar: Schedule key milestones and deadlines to reduce overwhelm.

Writers & Authors:

Organize your projects: Review your current WIP (works in progress) and determine what is able to be used, and what needs to be reworked. Organize them in like stages (ex: ready for edits, needs more work, toss, come back to later)

Set priorities: Identify your strongest piece(s) and go all in on finishing that project.

Plan your calendar: Schedule time to work on your project to see it through to completion and/or publication.

Women of Faith:

Organize your schedule: Review your current obligations and responsibilities for the current year. What will carry forward into the new year and what will be able to be removed?

Set priorities: Write all non-negotiables in your 2026 calendar.

Plan your calendar: Fill in all the appointments you know you have coming up in 2026 already and determine where you can potentially add more time for rest/relaxation (aka vacation), hobbies, self-care, and/or new projects.

Now is a great time to be forward thinking about what the new year can bring you. Don't lose hope if this year didn't go as planned. You have new chances to try again. Keep going, keep the faith, and keep taking the next step to help you reach your goals.
