Yesterday was a complete whirlwind of events all surrounding the official launch of my book, Authentically Anchored. It blew away my expectations time and time again, with each minute that ticked down until it was time for me to collapse in bed, exhausted from all the people-ing I had to do.
My virtual launch team showed up and knocked it out of the park! They shared, they reviewed, they shared some more, they found other places to review, they posted in our group, they texted and messaged me, and they just made my heart so very happy.
I honestly couldn't have pulled off yesterday without them, they nailed it!
Yesterday was genuinely an all about Authentically Anchored kind of day.
This is me, standing in my office, just a girl and her first ever published book, with a super big grin, and tears in her eyes.
Leading up to the launch was hectic, and stressful, so Mike took me on a short camping trip over the weekend so I could unplug and reset before the big day. I'm grateful we did that, because it really did help me get out of my head.
It's easy to expect that you'll automatically hit a best sellers list on the first day, and perhaps some do, but I didn't, and I'm ok with that. I didn't pour a lot of funding into ads on launch day, I didn't hire a huge team to help me, I wanted this launch to be subtle, organic, and authentic. I wanted to see what would happen naturally, and boy was I surprised to see who else was sharing my posts that weren't on the launch team. So many people shared, tagged, and recommended my book yesterday that I didn't even realize would.
So while I didn't rank high on Amazon's Best Seller List yesterday, I am still on Ingram Spark's best seller list for both my book and companion workbook, so I'll take it, and as my husband lovingly reminded me, just because I didn't hit Amazon's yesterday doesn't mean that I won't ever. These things take time, and time is what I've got right now.
Now the fun of in-person events and signings begin as well as booking speaking potentials. My calendar is so full from now until the end of October! I've even already booked a speaking role in March of 2025. I can't wait to share the message Authentically Anchored brings and help bring back hope and joy to the lives of many more women around the world.
Thank you, for cheering me on yesterday and always, I am so grateful for you!
With Grace, Shonda
